FAQs

Majority of Reflings earrings are created from polymerclay, that converts to a polyvinyl chloride (plastic based material) when cured.

Some earrings will have added embellishments such as cowrie shells, brass findings or a variety of beads to accentuate the earrings.

All Reflings rings are made from brass metal and are adjustable.

Reflings earrings are made predominantly using hypoallergenic earring stud posts or hooks and in some instances 18K gold plated earring posts and backs and paired with soft silicon stoppers. This means that the materials are unlikely to cause an allergic reaction, but this is not 100% guaranteed. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require more information or a change of metals as I may be able to accommodate you.

If you notice a small lump on your earring, it could have been from a trapped air bubble. Air bubbles are a result of trapped air in the clay. Although every effort is made to ‘pop them bubbles,’ some always find a way to show up unexpected. We do try an ensure that air bubbles are minimal. All clay products are handmade and may have slight imperfections.

We can change the hooks to leverback hoops for you! These are much better for people with stretched earlobes as they won’t fall out. Just leave me a message at checkout or email (refiloe@reflings.com) after purchase and we will make sure to change them for you.

Due to its flexible properties, polymer clay is actually a very durable material and your earrings should last a very long time if cared for correctly. That being said, please do care for them well. If they’re chucked in your handbag or shoved in a drawer then they may break or the earring stud posts or hooks may bend out of shape.
